SPARC Internal Review - Deadlines for April 1, 2012 NSERC Strategic Project Grant Competition

Date: Feb 06, 2012   Author: David Woods

SPARC is currently accepting registrations for Internal Review (IR) for the April 1, 2012 NSERC Strategic Project Grant competition.

Registration Deadline:  Monday, February 20, 2012.

Due to the NSERC Strategic Project Grant (SPG) competition timing, a limited Internal Review (IR) program will be offered for those who can provide a well-developed draft of their SPG application by Feb 27, 2012, 5pm.

Those interested in participating in the IR process are asked to please register by Feb. 20, 2012. Please note that any researchers failing to register and/or submit all of the required IR documents by the outlined deadlines, will be ineligible for the IR process. Also, IR requests will be treated on a first-come, first-serve basis, and registering for IR does not guarantee an appropriate reviewer will be found for every SPG application.

You can register for an Internal Review of your SPG application by sending an email to David.Woods@ubc.ca, Research Partnership Officer in the SPARC Office. In this email, please provide the following details:

  • Name, Email address, Department, list of Co-applicants
  • Title of SPG grant, your professor rank (Asst. Prof., Assoc. Prof., etc.)
  • Any Faculty who you would prefer NOT to review your grant
  • Indicate if you would prefer anonymity between applicant & reviewer, or not
  • Brief summary of the research project (~half page)

IR feedback will be returned to the applicant by March 14, 2012.

Note the UBC Internal Deadline for NSERC SPG applications is March 28, 2012. Once again, the final NSERC deadline for SPGs is April 1, 2012.

Any questions about the NSERC SPG program, or the SPARC Internal Review process, can be directed to David Woods.
