DIPLOMATIC CONTACTS

The Office of the Vice President Research & International maintains a wide range of contacts with Vancouver-based consulates, embassies and high commissions of foreign governments in Ottawa, and Canadian diplomats abroad.

These contacts provide us with a variety of support for our international collaborations. They can provide useful background information on partner institutions, and information on government-funded scholarships for students wishing to pursue research and study abroad.  They can help make introductions and organize logistics on the ground when we visit other countries.

Local consulates also provide an important link to international communities based in Vancouver. These offices are an important emergency contact for our people travelling abroad and for international visitors to UBC.

If you would like to engage a diplomatic contact, our office can provide contact details, introductions and advice on how best to use the network. We are also interested in learning about any significant recent diplomatic contact with members of the UBC community, as this information helps to inform our work. Please contact Tangerine Twiss at (604) 822-3114.
