UBC-TEBO Open Call for Research

In September 2022, UBC and the TEBO Group of Industries (TEBO) announced a 3-year collaborative research partnership of $6.6 million over three years.

As a global Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) provider, TEBO has a strong emphasis on sustainable industrial and commercial construction and installation.

TEBO is increasing the focus of their business efforts around sustainability engineering, smart cities, and the circular economy, aligning with UBC’s global research expertise in these areas. This partnership will support open calls for research on an annual basis, funding novel research and embedding technology demonstrations in both regional and international infrastructure development projects.

SPRING 2023 OPEN CALL RESEARCH THEMES

This phase of the Open Call is seeking proposals around four major research themes:

  • Sustainable waste-to-energy conversion: efficient technologies, optimal design and innovative feedstock solution
  • Sustainable building materials: recycled, carbon-neutral, or bio-based, etc.
  • Innovative construction: approaches and techniques for building construction and industrial infrastructure
  • Metal additive manufacturing: advanced metalwork fabrication, design and application
