UBC Vancouver Faculties are invited to apply for matched funding to enable the creation of net-new research opportunities for undergraduate students in the 2026/27 academic year. Up to $500,000 is available through this year’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Call for Faculty Proposals.
Interested Faculties at UBC Vancouver should submit proposals by 4:30 p.m. January 15, 2026.
Students should be engaged on the appropriate use of funds, and the opportunities created should support the development of critical thinking, innovation and career-readiness through research. Faculties will be notified of funding decisions in early February 2026.
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Call for Faculty Proposals is part of a four-year pilot (2025-2029) from the Vice-President, Research and Innovation to expand undergraduate research opportunities at the UBC Vancouver campus.
Full details of this year’s call, including proposal and Faculty reporting requirements, as well as Faculty-specific funding maximums, were distributed to the Associate Deans, Research on November 6.
Inquiries relating to the call can be directed to Leslie Grad, Manager, Strategic Initiatives, Office of the VPRI.
