Two new UBC training and mentorship programs for students and postdoctoral fellows awarded $3.3m through NSERC CREATE grants

June 10, 2021

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) announced funding of up to $21.45 million over six years for 13 research teams across the country through its Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program. The grants will support the careers of students and postdoctoral fellows as they develop research and other professional skills.

“By bringing together multidisciplinary teams to offer mentoring and skills training opportunities, CREATE complements the research training that students receive. This positions them well to succeed in their careers and make important contributions to Canadian science and engineering.”
– Alejandro Adem, NSERC President

Two teams led by UBC researchers have been awarded a total of $3.3m from NSERC.
