Spotlight On: HIV + AIDS

UBC has been on the international frontline of HIV/AIDS research, prevention and treatment for more than 30 years.

Dr. Julio Montaner’s groundbreaking HAART and Treatment as Prevention strategies have drastically curbed transmission rates and can reduce global HIV/AIDS-related deaths by 90%.

Other UBC researchers are exploring further treatment and prevention initiatives, including safe injection sites and simple screening tests.

This trailblazing research is changing the way the world approaches and treats HIV/AIDS.
