Career interruptions can extend this eligibility period. Review the RSC FAQs

Nominations:

Departments, divisions, institutes, schools and faculties are encouraged to embed equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) considerations in their nomination strategies.

There are two distinct routes by which candidates may be nominated for election to the Society:

1) Nomination by Fellow or College member:

  • Fellows or current College members are eligible to nominate candidates and are encouraged to support their peers.
  • Nominations of UBC faculty members by RSC members are submitted by the nominator, but can access ORPA support.

2) Nomination by Institutional Member (UBC):

  • UBC can nominate College members as an Institutional Member (under UBC's President). IM nominations do not carry additional weight in the RSC adjudication process.
  • Nominations under this category are facilitated by the VPRI Office of Research Prizes and Awards.

Please submit notice of planned RSC nominations, including requests for institutional nominations and renominations, by September 21, 2023: https://prizes.research.ubc.ca/2023-notice-planned-rsc-nomination
