Submitting Grant Funding Applications

Grant funding applications are submitted through the Office of Research Services.

Before submitting a proposal principal investigators must understand the specific requirements of:

  • their faculty, department or unit; 
  • UBC, including the Indirect Costs of Research; and 
  • the funding agency, whose requirements may vary among specific programs. 

When all requirements are met, the Office of Research Services provides the institutional signature, confirming that University officials have reviewed the proposal, that it meets internal and agency requirements, and that all documents are ready for submission.

All funding applications must be accompanied by a Research Project Information Form.

Research Data Management Planning Tool

UBC researchers can now access a free national data management planning tool, DMP Assistant, created to meet the anticipated requirements of the CFI and Tri-council funding agencies.

A bilingual tool, DMP Assistant is provided through UBC Library as part of the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) Portage initiative. Users of DMP Assistant can benefit from UBC-specific help and guidance when creating data management plans.
