The newly established Shared Research Platforms Competition offers an opportunity for research facilities across a range of disciplines at UBC Vancouver to receive support and resources for their ongoing operations.
Funding recipients will become a designated shared research platform (SRP) at UBC Vancouver, with the VPRI providing partnership funding to complement existing host department/unit funding.
This competition supports Strategy 7 of UBC's Strategic Plan to strengthen shared infrastructure and resources to support research excellence.
Research facilities that have been in operation four or more years are invited to apply through the application process comprising a first-stage mandatory expression of interest and second stage for shortlisted facilities that includes a financial audit and submission of a full application.
A maximum of five research facilities will be designated shared research platforms through the 2025 competition.
Full details of the competition, including eligibility and adjudication criteria, are available on the competition page linked below.
Questions about the competition should be directed to Dr. Zamyla Chan, Strategy Manager, Shared Research Platforms, Office of the VPRI.
