UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is excited to share two external funding opportunities for researchers.
NVIDIA Academic Grant Program
NVIDIA is inviting research proposals in three key areas:
- Generative AI Training and Model Development
- Generative AI Alignment and Inference
- Robotics and Edge AI
Depending on the research topic, applicants may request computing resources such as A100 40GB GPU hours, NVIDIA DGX Spark access, or Jetson Orin Developer Kits. Applications are accepted year-round, with the current round closing on September 30, 2025.

Sony Research Award Program
Sony’s program supports cutting-edge academic research through two award categories:
- Faculty Innovation Award: Provides up to $100,000 USD to support innovative academic research aligned with Sony’s broad areas of interest.
- Focused Research Award: Offers up to $150,000 USD for research projects that address specific, high-priority topics identified by Sony.
The deadline for submission is September 15, 20215 11:59 pm PDT.
