Twenty-five Research Excellence Clusters led by researchers at UBC Vancouver have received grant funding through the 2024/25 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters Competition (GCRC). A further 14 clusters are being supported in the second year of their existing grant.

In fall 2022, the VPRI facilitated an external review of its Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters (GCRC) Program to assess its effectiveness in supporting Research Excellence Strategy 6 (Collaborative Clusters) of UBC’s strategic plan.
GCRC supports Research Excellence Clusters led by researchers at UBC Vancouver. Research Excellence Clusters led by researchers at UBC Okanagan are supported by the Eminence Program.
