Researchers at the University of British Columbia have been awarded $24.8m in funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant program.

The CIHR Project Grant program is designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential to advance health-related fundamental or applied knowledge, health research, health care, health systems, and/or health outcomes. It supports projects or programs of research proposed and conducted by individual researchers or groups of researchers in all areas of health.

The Project Grant: Spring 2019 competition has approved 382 research grants, plus an additional 21 bridge grants, for a total investment of approximately $275M. In addition, 15 priority announcement bridge grants were funded for a total amount of $1,496,333.
