The impact of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT on democratic elections has become a pressing concern.
A new report from the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions (CSDI) at UBC’s School of Public Policy and Global Affairs investigates the growing threat that emerging, insidious tactics such as deepfake robocalls and AI-generated harassment campaigns pose to democracy—while also calling for a balanced response.
