Dr. Heidi Tworek is one of fifteen UBC faculty members announced by the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) as new Fellows and Members of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists in September 2024. Heidi Tworek is Canada Research Chair, Professor of History and Public Policy, and Director of the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Multi-award-winning author of one book and over 45 journal articles and book chapters, Tworek researches the global history and policy of communications and media. She is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation.
