Supriya Routh is the Canada Research Chair in Labour Law & Social Justice at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at The University of British Columbia. His interdisciplinary research agenda includes theoretical conceptualizations of the law of work, regulatory exclusion of informal workers in the Global South, deliberative lawmaking, and social justice and sustainable human development. Supriya’s current research examines non-Eurocentric normative ideas on the relationship between livelihoods and sustainability.
Professor Supriya Routh is one of nine UBC faculty members announced by the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) as new Fellows and Members of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists in September 2025. Fellows and College Members are officially inducted into the RSC at the annual Celebration of Excellence and Engagement in November.
