Table of Verified Rates

For grant applications only, UBC will accept agency-specific rates of indirect cost recovery under the conditions outlined below.

Creating a budget for grant applications consists of the following steps:

  • Check the grant application form / published instructions to determine if a specific indirect cost recovery rate is provided
  • Create a budget of direct costs
  • Incorporate the indirect cost recovery at the specified rate to each line item, or if no rate is specified apply UBC's standard rate of 25% for government or non-profit partners or 40% for industry partners

If a rate on a grant application form or accompanying instructions is verified by ORS or UILO, it will be accepted.

Verified rates are now listed in RISe.

If you are unsure whether a specific rate is acceptable, contact ORS or UILO.

As new programs are added to the list periodically, if there is a discrepancy between the rate specified on a grant application form and the table on RISeindirect costs must be recovered at the rate specified on the grant application form.
