Each year NSERC offers six Steacie Fellowships. A Steacie Fellowship provides support to a young faculty member for two years, free of teaching and administrative responsibilities.
At UBC, before submission to NSERC, a Steacie Fellowship nomination requires preparation in the academic unit and endorsement by the Office of the Vice President Research (VPR). Institutions may submit a maximum of six Steacie Fellowship nominations.
