In fall 2022, the VPRI facilitated an external review of its Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters (GCRC) Program to assess its effectiveness in supporting Research Excellence Strategy 6 (Collaborative Clusters) of UBC’s strategic plan.
GCRC supports Research Excellence Clusters led by researchers at UBC Vancouver. Research Excellence Clusters led by researchers at UBC Okanagan are supported by the Eminence Program.
A report on the external review’s findings relating to GCRC was submitted to the VPRI and the VPA. A summary of that report and the initial response can be found here.
Based on the findings from the review, the VPRI has developed multiple program models that respond, in various ways, to recommendations from the external reviewers.
We will present our proposed program revisions at two sessions, one in person and one virtual, and invite members of the research community who are interested to attend one of the sessions, and provide feedback.
