UBC researchers awarded $38.1 million to lead health research through CIHR's Fall 2024 Project Grant competition

A total of 55 projects led by UBC researchers were awarded $38.1 million in combined funding through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant: Fall 2024 competition.

  • UBC researchers are leading 41 projects awarded Project Grants totaling $36.7 million
  • 14 projects led by UBC researchers were awarded Priority Announcement Grants totaling $1.4 million

On a national level, CIHR approved a total of 453 research grants, for a total investment of approximately $411 million. In addition, 105 priority announcement grants were funded for a total amount of $14.1 million and 16 supplemental prizes were awarded for a total of $400,000.
