Next Steps in Digital Humanities: Interactive Workshop

Thursday, February 25, 2016, 1:00 to 4:00pm
Multipurpose room - Liu Institute for Global Issues
6476 NW Marine Drive

What resources exist for research in Digital Humanities at UBC and what kind of research is being pursued?

This interactive workshop introduces colleagues to librarians and Digital Humanities specialists from UBC and Compute Canada, and introduces these professionals, in turn, to the range of scholars and projects occurring in Arts within the broad tent field of Digital Humanities. While this workshop is geared primarily to faculty and graduate students in Arts at UBC, colleagues in other faculties are also welcome.  No expertise in Digital Humanities required, only curiosity!

The workshop will comprise three parts:

1)     a high-level overview of resources for Digital Humanities at UBC,

2)     a walk-around show-and-tell of Digital Humanities research projects, and

3)     a wrap-up panel discussion on next steps for Digital Humanities in Arts at UBC.

We’d love to hear about your current work!

If you would like to bring a laptop and introduce your research in the informal walk-around portion (much like a poster presentation), please contact us at sec.strategic@ubc.ca to get on the list.
