In 2017, the Order of Canada celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Join UBC President, Santa J. Ono and many of BC's 400+ Order of Canada recipients on November 29th for a day-long celebration of their achievements, and engage in discussions about building a better Canada over the next 50 years.
ABOUT THE DAY
The day-long event consists of three distinct portions: a morning event for school groups, and afternoon networking and workshop event for OC recipients, and a high-profile public event in the evening.
DISCOVER THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE MEDALS
Join us for a fast-paced series of inspiring talks from high-profile Order of Canada recipients.
Following these talks, the audience will break into smaller groups for a more intimate discussion with OC recipients engaged in arts, social activism, sports, business, science and health. Students will interact with some of Canada's greatest minds and inspiring leaders, and learn about their life choices and career decisions.
Meet with fellow OC recipients over lunch before engaging in a series of workshops that will contemplate crucial issues for the future of Canada, such as inclusion and reconciliation, and how society, universities and industry can interact to shape our future.
This will be followed by a private reception hosted by UBC President, Santa Ono.
Please note: this a private event for OC recipients only. If you are an OC recipient and wish to attend, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
