Responsible Research + Scholarly Integrity

The university’s Scholarly Integrity Policy clarifies the responsibilities and standards required of all UBC persons engaged in scholarly activity.

At UBC, the responsible conduct of research includes, but also goes beyond, these requirements in building a community that embraces best practices in research and the values of honesty, accountability, openness and fairness in the search for and dissemination of knowledge.

Learn more about some of the ways that the VPRI supports responsible conduct of research below.

  • Best practices and key challenges related to the responsible conduct of research,
  • Frameworks for navigating ethical issues and challenges inherent to all stages of research, and
  • The responsibilities of the university regarding scholarly integrity.
