Funding Partnerships in the Social Sciences and Humanities

Join us on Tuesday, January 15, for a workshop focused on SSHRC’s Partnership Engage Grant (PEG), featuring a recent awardee and two development specialists. Following these presentations, SPARC will present an overview of the PEG application with advice that can be applied across SSHRC proposals.

SPARC is hosting Test Your Concept (TYC) panels for researchers interested in submitting applications to the New Frontiers in Research Fund Exploration Stream. The panel, comprised of interdisciplinary faculty and research staff, will meet with each participant for 30 minutes to provide constructive feedback on research concepts.

On Thursday, December 13, from 1:00pm–3:00pm SPARC and Tim Salcudean, VPRI’s Sciences & Engineering Research Advisor, will host an information/discussion session about the new NSERC Partnerships Program. The event will feature a short presentation outlining the proposed changes to the Partnerships Program, support plans for the new programs and ample time for discussion, including collecting feedback on the program to pass on to NSERC.

The Pacific Northwest Data Curators meet-up will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia on Friday, 30 November at the SFU Harbour Centre Campus Vancouver. Similar to previous years, it will be a day of programming with invited guests, lightning talks, formal presentations and hands-on workshops. VPRI Unit: Research Ethics

UBC hosted a Research Ethics Conference in Vancouver on October 3, 2018 to present topics in clinical research ethics.

Attending were members of the UBC Research Ethics Boards as well as representatives from Simon Fraser University, the University of Northern BC and University of Victoria and BC health authorities (Fraser Health and Interior Health).
