    Dr. Rashid Sumaila named as 2022 AAAS Fellow

    The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the Science family of journals, has elected Dr. Rashid Sumaila to the newest class of AAAS Fellows, among the most distinct honours within the global scientific community.

    UBC announces three new University Killam Professors

    The University Killam Professorship recognizes exceptional teachers and researchers who are leaders in their fields, and who have received international recognition for their talents and achievements. It is the highest honour UBC can confer on a faculty member. The new University Killam Professors are: Nemy Banthia (Civil Engineering, Faculty of Applied Science), Dominic McIver Lopes (Philosophy, Faculty of Arts) and Natalie Strynadka (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Faculty of Medicine).
