Research Data Management

UBC recognizes the importance of data throughout the research lifecycle and is committed to fostering excellence in research data management (RDM). Research data is integral to all manner of research across all disciplines.

Research Data Management (RDM) refers to the processes applied throughout the life cycle of a research project to guide the collection, documentation, storage, sharing, and preservation of research data.

UBC aims to provide support and resources for researchers to follow and engage in commonly accepted principles relating to research data management such as FAIR and CARE, as well as the First Nations Principles of OCAP® and relevant provisions for supporting the British Columbia Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (DRIPA).
